South East Melbourne

The eight suburbs we actually know

It would be easy to list forty suburbs on this page. We would rather name the eight we can talk about street by street, and tell you plainly when somewhere is outside them.

Cranbourne East, Cranbourne, Clyde, Doveton, Hampton Park, Dandenong, Narre Warren and Berwick.

The map runs from Dandenong, where we’re based, out through Doveton and Hampton Park, past Narre Warren and Berwick, then south into Cranbourne and Clyde where paddocks are still turning into streets. You can drive all of it in a morning. We do, most weeks.

Eight is not many, and that’s the point. Knowing a suburb means knowing which streets go quiet after dark, which releases have kept buyers waiting on titles, and which back fence looks onto something nobody mentioned at the open. Nobody holds that many streets in their head at once, and the agents who say they do are guessing.

If we don’t know a street, we’ll say so. Then we’ll go and stand on it.

Pick the one you’re looking in

Each suburb has its own page: what the place is like, what we’ve got on there, and the number to call.

Start with the drive, not the suburb

Tell us the budget, the school run, and how far you’re willing to drive on a Monday morning. That usually narrows eight down to two, and it gives you back the other six weekends.
